DESCRIPTION:Called as per the decision of the emergency meeting of Environmental Science Discipline Alumni Association.\nWe the ES family and the Khulna University family are deeply saddened by the untimely demise of Mamunur Rashid (Mamun) Batch 98\, the beloved face of the Environmental Science discipline. Mamun is survived by his wife and two daughters. A delegation of Environmental Science Alumni Association met Mamun’s family at Azampur\, Uttara on 13.06.2023 to express their condolences to Mamun’s family and to know the overall condition of the family. On behalf of the Environmental Science Alumni Association\, the president of the association M. Anwar Hossain\, Legal Affairs Secretary Kaniz Fatema Papdi and Organizing Secretary Alamgir Kabir Shubo met Mamun’s family\, during which ES family expressed condolences to Mamun’s wife\, two daughters\, Mamun’s sister\, maternal uncle and younger brother (Masoom). . It should be noted that his wife has been suffering from cancer for the past one and a half years and her treatment is very expensive. \nDuring the meeting with the family\, reminiscences of the ES family with Mamun were discussed\, and above all the overall socio-economic situation of Mamun’s family. An emergency meeting of the ESDAA Executive Council was held on the follow-up to this meeting\, where the following decisions were taken after discussing the overall situation in detail. \n1. Cooperation and Sympathy: From the ESDAA delegation’s discussions with Mamun’s family\, their socio-economic status\, his family’s own views and subsequent discussions at the Executive Council meeting\, it was decided that ESDAA would immediately collect the funds and from this\, if there was any surplus after the cooperation of Mamun’s family\, A “welfare fund” will be formed with this as this is our first experience as an Alumni Association so that we can stand by the Alumni or Alumni’s family as soon as possible in case of such untoward incidents in the future. \n2: Maintaining contact and engagement: During the meeting of the ESDAA delegation\, all their phone numbers were provided to Mamun’s family. Through which any problems and needs of the family are requested to be reported without hesitation. In addition\, the members of the executive council decided to keep in touch with Mamun’s family on a regular basis\, and especially the legal affairs secretary Kaniz Fatema Papdi expressed the assurance of keeping in touch with Mamun’s wife. \nIt is decided to invite Mamun’s family to any ESDAA family function\, picnic\, iftar mahfil and any social activities.
